We have two Access databases that we want to report on in Crystal. When we try to link a field in the Visual Linking Expert we get an error message about the fields being of different types. However, each field is defined as an Integer in the Access database. One database is Access 97 the other is Access 2000. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Take the Access 2000 database and link to the other tables in the Access 97 database, then generate a Query in the Access 2000 database based on whatever tables you need for Crystal to use as the data source.

I'm not sure why you're experiencing problems, but I'd try a different connectivity type in Crystal, so if you're using direct, switch to ODBC or vice versa.

Anyway, I'd let the database do the real work (joins, conversion, etc.), and let Crystal do the presentation layer.
