I want to link tasks in master file to another project file so that any info updated in master are reflected in 2nd file. How do I do this?

I know how to insert one project within another, but not how to link at the task/subtask level.

Any help/references to help appreciated.

Thanks!

Ah, grasshopper, you choose the path of great pain and many tears for, insomuch as links can be forged easily so can they also be broken easily for they are but a tissue of electrons.

Open your "another project file"
Open your master project.
In the master project file: locate a task, click on the start date, press ctrl+C (to copy the date).
In the "another project file": locate the task, click ONCE on the start date, click on Edit, click on PASTE SPECIAL, click on the Paste Link radio button, click on OK.

I have not attempted to tally the number of different ways the project files can be accidentally "un-linked" but that number (large as it may be) will not adequately describe the number of hours you will need (nor the amount of pain you will experience) trying to get the two files "re-linked".

You have been warned.
