I have an Access 97 database (soon to be upgraded) and an Access 2000 database. I want the Access 2000 database to use 2 of the tables in the Access 97 database. Is there an easy way to link to the tables in the Access 97 database?

Thanks!

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks, I successfully linked them, but the program is soooo slow now....is that "normal" for linked tables?

The first time you execute any queries in your application after you have linked to a new location on your network they will run much slower. This is due to ACCESS attempting to optimize the queries. You should always run your queries one time before distribution of your database. This may not be your problem but if you have very large data files and the queries have to deal with a lot of indexes and relationships I have experienced serious slowdowns upon the initial distribution. Always as a programmer follow the directions about before you distribute the database. It should be much faster after that.

I also converted to Access 2000, had many difficulties
converting the database, so I imported the '97 objects into a blank 2000 database. Basically just pieced the database
back together--kind of like unloading the moving van one piece at a time instead of trying to back the truck into the house.
