Linking tables.....the easy way!

Greetings to all..

I know this has probably been asked before but here goes again anyhow.

I I wasnt to keep linking simple for the average user (ie Not using the SQL Designer) is there a method to link 2 unlike fields. 9IR. Can I create a Virual Join to a Trimmed field?

Since you're using CR 9, use the Add Command function and paste in whatever SQL you'd like as the data source.

What's 9IR?

You can join on different data types, but it may not work as expected.

Or you might build a View on the dtaabase to base the report on.

The solution is database and connectivity specific, and stems from a poorly designed database.

Douse the dba in slow blurning, highflammables and start walking slowly towards her/him with a bic lighter until the offensive riff-raff is out of the building, or whisping through the ventilation system.

Now create a View which casts the object to the better type, and hit Dice.com for a replacement.
