I am creating a report using Crystal 9 where I need to include linked subreports. Our goal is to have the user enter one value and have that parameter passed to all the sub-reports. I have been able to do this with standard sub-reports, but I can't seem to get it to work with a subreport that uses a command object.

Thanks

I can verify that it does indeed work with CR9. Make sure that the main report link field and the subreport parameter field are the same datatype.

Dave,

Thanks for the reply. The prompts are for the same field and have been set up the same. One issue that might ... or might not ... be playing a part is that the prompt for the command object requires a single quote for the value to be accepted. The prompt for the standard version report requires no quote. Anyway, as you can see, I am a bit stumped. Any light you can shed on how you actually set up the link would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I'd say that's definitely the problem. Try linking the subreport using a formula instead of the same parameter. Not sure what you mean by the subreport parameter needing a single quote. If you need the parameter wrapped in single quotes, you could place this formula in the main report, then link the subreport parameter to this formula:
[tt]
//{@ParamLink}
"'" + {?YourParameter} + "'"
[/tt]
