Linking Position to audio

Hello everyone

i was just wandering if anyone could help me.

I am trying to make a layers 'Z' position be controlled by the audio level of a track in the same composition. I know its something to do with expressions and i have manged to make it kind of work, except that it alters its 'X' and 'Y' at the same time. I need a way of isolating the Z range.

Please please help me as i have spent the last 24 hours staring at my screen without any luck.

Try Trapcode SoundKeys.
Then use a simple pickwhip expression to solo out the Z-position

Else, you can convert the audio into keyframes.
