Any way or work around to link two or more paging groups?

I need to page all but two sets in a Magix V4 system that has 24 MLX phones..

Thanks in advance,

Mike

have you looked at the "page all" 799 feature..this might
work for you...I do not know of any way to LINK page groups together...unless one of the other guru's in this forum know a way to do this.

HiDesert

Page all 799 works fine, I just need to eliminate 2 extension from the paging and I have more extension than the 8 allow using the other group pages. I thought someone might know how to link 2 of the other (8 extension max) group pages together.

Thanks for responding.

With a Magix V4 you should be able to add more than 8 users to a group. I am not 100% sure, but I thought you could go up to 30 members. Are you talking about coverage, that's limited to 8 users.

Telecomboy,

I wish you were correct, it's just 8 per "group page" and that's not enough. All page is too many..

Sounds like I'm stuck !

Thanks for the response.

Just checked, it is 10 people per group, still doesn't help you with your situation:

Group Paging
Group Paging directs Speakerphone Paging either to a selected group of extensions, such as a
department or work area, or to all extensions in the system, except QCC operator positions.
The system automatically reserves extension numbers 793 through 798 for the first six
speakerphone Paging Groups. Up to 10 extensions can be assigned to each speakerphone
Paging Group. The seventh speakerphone Paging Group is called the Page All group and is
factory-set to page all extension numbers. The system automatically reserves extension number
799 for the Page All group. An extension can belong to up to seven speakerphone Paging Groups
(including the Page All group).

Does everyone want LD SPKR Paging?

If not, you could turn off Voice Receive on the ones that don't want it.

I don't know if we could get creative with the External Paging Line assigned to a group or not, but we can think about that.

Merlinman,

This is the island job I talked to you about. I got 20 or so MLX, they want page all but I need to stop it at 2 "quiet" locations within the building with out using DND..

Mike

Well, in that case, all that needs to be done is to disable their "VOICE RECEIVE".

This is done in Centralized Programming, Voice Announce, Receive, OFF.

This is the ONE feature I had some input on back when.
