This should be simple, and I have been trying everything from what is posted but I still get an error. All I want is to be able to link a textbox which is in the page footer section say [total_weight] and set its visible to no. Then in the header put an unbound textbox and read that value from it, or display it.

I thought you just put the name of the textbox after the equal sign. unbound textbox control source = [total_weight]. However this does not work.

Thanks ahead of time

If you are using a Sum field in the Page Footer this is not very simple.

You can play with the 'Sales Totals by Amount.Page Total' Macro in Norhtwind database and get the results. It is used in 'Sales Totals by Amount' Report

But it gets complicated if you have some grouping fields and page breaks after each group

Best of luck

Well actually all my data is stored in the table not using any sums. Now, maybe there is another way to acomplish this. I have a lot of records in my database catogorized by pool number, however at the end of each month they fill in some extra information(two fields), I attach them back to the table with an update query(I need to). Now, that info is attached to the last record. So, I use a query to form my report, and get all my records from starting date to end date. So, obviously if I put these values in the footer they are going to read from the last record, but If I put these two fields in the header they are going to read the values of my first record. So i thought youo can just put like invisible fields in the footer and then link them to unbound textboxes in the header. Don't know? however, it is not a sum it is just two textboxes that are populated from my table data.

Thanks for your quick response!

Hey, I already fixed my problem. I just used a Dlookup and got the fileds from my table. However, I find it very weird that you can't really link pieces of data within the same report. Because what happens if you want to show the total of something in the header fro some stupid reason .Anyhow, I got my report working how I wanted it, and yesterday I tried dlookup but my brain was already fried trying other stuff. So, I didn't put in the right arguments. Well thanks anyhow for your quick response.
