Linking Nec Sl1100 to Sl2100 via VPN

Hello hive mind,

As stated in the subject, I am trying to tie an SL1100 to SL2100 via a VPN so that internal dialing of extensions can occur without using external lines.

There isn't much information on how to do this, at least I couldn't find clear cut examples, so I've done the best I can and so far no luck.

The SL1100 has extensions of 1xx and the 2100 has extensions of 2xx. I set up 10-23 on both switches, set up a F-route table for the external extensions, installed a SIP IP license on the 2100 so it has a sip trunk, etc. I've gotten both switches to select the correct trunk when an external extension is dialed but nothing happens after that.

I am stumped and don't know what I am missing. Anyone have some pointers for me?

To the best of my knowledge, what you are attempting is not possible. Mainly due to the fact the phone systems cannot create SIP trunks between themselves to use as TIE lines as you have suggested.

KCCIS is a feature where you can link two systems together with what are tagged as SIP in part of the system, but this is a different license set. My notes for KCCIS are below.

10-12 3, 9, 13, 14 - Set IP Addresses
84-26 01 - Set IPL DSP Address
10-19 Set No. Of Channels to 'Used for CCIS' Based on Licence
10-68 Setup as for number of Channels, Start Port is next available port.
50-01 Tick On
50-02 09 - set own Point Code. (based on designation of system in 'network')
50-03 Set Tables based on Network Parameters. Only Destination & IP Address Req.
14-01 Give new CCIS Trunks Names
14-05 Set KCCIS Trunks to their own trunk group 10 by default
22-02 Set KCCIS Trunks as Tie Line
22-03 Set Ringtone if required
11-01 Set Extension/VE number plans to F-Route for other sites
44-02 Set Extension/VE Number to F-Route Table of equivalent no. 2@@ to F-Route Table 2
44-05 01 - 10, 09 - 3, 10 - Set to Site Destination Point Code For Relevant F-Route Tables

50-08 Set to Destination Point Code of Other System
50-09 Set Ext. No. Of each extension on YOUR system, tick sending group 1

Totally doable, I set up a 2100 to a 3CX using ad hoc sip trunks and made it so that the two seemed as if they were the one system via F-route programming.

Here is what I've done to configure the two switches:

1) 10-63 DHCP Client is Off

2) 10-12-09 SL1100 is 192.168.111.115 | SL2100 is 192.168.5.10

3) 10-12-10 SL1100 is 255.255.255.0 | SL2100 is 255.255.255.0

4) 10-12-03 SL1100 is 192.168.111.1 | SL2100 is 192.168.5.1

5) 84-26 SL1100 is 192.168.111.116,10020,10021 | SL2100 is 192.168.5.11,10020,10021

6) 10-40-01 SL1100 is checked and set for 1 port | SL2100 doesn't have this setting. But 1 IP trunk license installed

7) 10-23 SL1100 has system interconnection checked,10.192.5.10,1720 and 2 for dial number (SL2100 extensions are 2xx) | SL2100 has system interconnection checked,10.192.111.115,1720 and 1 for dial number (SL1100 extensions are 1xx)

8) 10-36 SL1100 user id is "TCC", registration is not checked | SL2100 user id is "TCD", registration is not checked

9) 14-05 SL1100 trunk 5 is group 2 | SL2100 trunk 16 is group 2

9) 22-02 SL1100 trunk 5 is "Tie line" for all modes | SL2100 trunk 16 is "Tie line" for all modes

10) 44-02 SL1100 dial digit is "2", service type is F-Route Table, additional Data is "1" | SL2100 dial digit is "1", service type is F-Route Table, additional Data is "1"

11) 44-05-01 SL1100 is 2 | SL2100 is 2
44-05-09 SL1100 is 3 | SL2100 is 3

12) SL2100 extension 201 handset has trunk key set for trunk 16.

When I dial from the SL1100 to extension 201, I see line 5 is selected but nothing happens after that. I am missing something somewhere.
