Linking NEC NEAX 2000 IPS to Asterisk via T1

Has anyone linked an NEC NEAX 2000 IPS via T1 to an Asterisk? Could you please provide me with any helpful tips or documentation as currently I have these hooked up but I can only call from the NEC to the Asterisk and once the call is answered, one cannot hear the voice. Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks, Simon
