Some Background:

I'm a network guy who's taken over the administration of our (350+ node) phone system and am getting ready to do a test deploy of VoIP. (Welcome the future!) I've got a few phones configured and making calls on the network. I feel like I’m making real progress on these phones. I’m almost ready to put out a bunch of them as a test.

The only 2 issues I’ve run into so far that I haven’t been able to resolve are the auto-logon to Callpilot 600r and forwarding to voicemail when the line is busy.

I’ve configured key 16 to MWK 7000, and the message button dials the voicemail server. The expected response is “Nortel call pilot: You have no new messages” but instead the Prompt I get is “Mailbox Number?”

I thought it was an issue with the callpilot config at first, but looking at the user’s callpilot settings, they exactly match those of a user who does successfully log in on a digital phone. Extension DN1 is set to the extension of the IP phone and autologon is marked. MWI DN1 is likewise set to the extension and enabled.

Assuming I didn't miss something boneheaded in the CallPilot config, the problem's got to live in my CS1000e. I'm running rel 5.5 is that makes a difference. I am including the TNB of the set that’s having this issue. Can anyone out there take a look and see where I went wrong/what needs changing? My guess is there’s a setting or two that’ll clear the issue right up.

GH Trout's suggestion will make a non-answered call or a busy call go to your HUNT and FDN settings (voicemail).

As for your auto logon, go to Call Pilot Manager and look up the mailbox. In the DNs section, there's a checkbox to the right of the DN for Auto Logon. Make sure the box is checked. If you check the box, SAVE the settings.

I believe this just gives the user the right to activate it if they want to (security feature?)

User then has to log into his/her mailbox. Press 8 (mailbox commands) 0 (mailbox options) 4 (Auto Logon on/off), then 1 turns it on and 2 turns it off.

Grant a STAR if this helps.

Thank you to you both. Each of your answers fixed half of my problem.

It seems odd to me that the auto-login checkbox is really just an auto-login available checkbox, but that's why they call it learning.

Also, thanks to GHTROUT for the collection of Avaya/Nortel knowledge on the website. It's been very valuable in limiting the number of stupid questions I have to come ask of the forum.

The only stupid question is the one that's never asked (old Hungarian proverb?).

I'll admit that I've never used the auto logon feature so I did a little research for prior threads on this forum and a little testing on my phone to get your answer. So, by you asking, I learned something new also.

From an accountant turned telecom guy (wishing he was more of a network guy),
