I just joined this site, so I am unfamiliar with the protocal for posting a question. Here goes: I'm managing an IS project that all of our issues are stored in an MS Access database. We also utilize MS Project for our project resources, deadlines, etc. Is there any way to link the resources, start dates, end dates, etc to the MS Access issues log database, to elimiate double entry?

I assume linking would be best, but exporting the data and updating the MS Access issues log might be another option. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

For an import (not a link).......

In Project, click File, Open. In the dialog box that opens select Files of Type as Microsoft Access (*.mdb) - pick the file you want to import and click OK.

This launches an import wizard that helps you pick which tables you want to pull in and what you want to map the fields to in Project. You can even save this mapping so that you can pull in the db again in the same way.

At least this is one way of doing what you want in Project 2003...

if i remember correctly ms project isa sql server database
so you have 2 choices either link to the database with odbc or connect with a adp
