I am building an access db that is for a hospital to track various patient elements, but the amount of is > 255 so I created various 12 tables but I'm having trouble trying to link them. Should I link them all back to a patient identifier table?

Any help would be great!

You should normalize your table so that you have much less than 255 fields. It would be unusual if your table needed more than about 30 fields.

If you provide some information about the fields, someone might be able to help you with the normalization.
