Hi Guys,

I am looking on how Session Manger is linked with CS1K , which allows a SIP call to be routed to a specific destination. I know they are connected together via SIP, since Session Manger handles SIP entities, but i wonder if it's done with the ip address of the Signaling Server or the Call Server. I believe it's done with with the ip address of the Signaling server, but don't have a great way to explain this , also it is on Session Manager Side or both .

Anyone has an idea , i would very appreciate .

Thanks !

Same as NRS used to be calls are routed to the Node IP of the Sig Server(s) running VTRK. On the CS1K in the node properties against the SIP Gateway enter the session managers in as the Primary and Secondary Proxy servers. In SIP GW you cannot use the NRS database sync check box as you no longer have an NRS, and leave the check box for supports registration on the proxies unchecked.

You may be interested to know the Session Manager supports the SIP URI but every thing passing through routing is just digits so it works like this:

SIP to SM ----- | Inbound Adaptation -> dial pattern -> Routing Policy -> outbound Adaptation | ---- SIP to Destination
|<-----------------------------Session Manager------------------------------->|

so what you can do is have inbound adaptation to look for phone context "cdp.udp" and insert a prefix say "555"
then in Dial Pattern CDP entries would all be 555xxx
On the outbound adaptation the matching pattern "555", phone context "cdp.udp", and delete 3 digits to get rid of the 555
