I'm using anchor texts on various forums to deep link into my site. The forums that I go to don't have any "noFollow" attributes which is good. The only problem I see is that every forum that I'm on - I look at the PR indicator on my google tool bar - and it's always 0 where I put my postings at. The sites might be a 4 or 5 on their index pages but the subpages where I post never have any ranking. Just wondering if anyone thinks that I'm getting any type of "link love" whenever I post on a site where the main page is 4 or maybe 5...but the posting page is 0 of "information not available".

the forum pages that you post on will be less than the pagerank given to the index page, unless the forum page is popular and other sites find the need to link to it, which would overtime increase it's PR

if nofollow is not present on the pages that you post your links then great... just cross your fingers that these pages will become popular in time. in the mean time try to find pages to post on that have topic potential to become popular. but im guessing that you are linking from forum pages that share a target relevance to your designated page/s

of course you'll be getting link love, but not as powerful as a page that has a higher PR

You're unlikely to get significant PR from a forum page, though it's not easy to tell because Google only update toolbar PR every few months, and forum pages are usually too recent to show up.

However, if you're writing sensible posts, rather than just spamming, people who frequent the forum will visit your site and may promote it themselves. There's more to marketing your site than just PR.
