Help...deadline here! I created a standalone cd for engineers. Worked great, now boss has given me the task of doing a second cd. With this one he wants cad drawings added to it. I created a index of cad drawings. Would like to link from each drawing name...to a viewer (located on cd)...and have the drawing load in the viewer. When I tested my cd, I saw that Acrobat was trying to launch a different program than the one I have on the cd. It looks for a installed application on the pc instead. Is there a workaround for this?

I believe you may find the answer you seek at this post on the Adobe Acrobat support forum. Here's a link:
(copy everything from http to a/1 and paste into address on your browser)

Look in the last post. It contains a link to another Adobe site that discusses how to change from "relative" to "absolute" links. Also, search on PDFMark in the Adobe site.

Sorry I can't give you the exact description of how to do what you need, but I'm still learning how to do it myself. Continue checking back here throughout the day while other technical users check in and out.[peace] Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. Seek and ye shall find!
