HyperLinks or OLE objects ?????

Any Ideas ...

SOLUTION:

I have figured out that "Hyperlinks" are the best way to link files of any type to a DB record, with the help of DougP I was able to link and open files linked to a record by using a the CommonDialogBox...

Thanks to all Involved!
if anyone would like a demo of this email me...

The main problem of using OLE is the bloating effect. In most cases only the path and filename is stored in the table, but this leads to administration problems once you have a certain quantity of graphic files.
An alternative to the ACCESS OLE server is the Graphics Wizard (Powerups page at that avoids the bloating effect and provides supplementary functions.

I agree about OLE,
usually crashes at about 1250 links...

But !
My solution does not use OLE, "Old Limited Embedding" he he

this works great and is only limited by access record limitations, so if you have billions of records make it SQL, with an Access Front-End...
works great
