Is there a limit to the amount of queries that can be linked from Excel to Access? Ive used 'Data' - 'Import External Data' - 'Import Data' and then the wizard. Ive linked the workbook up to various queries in my database, but now its just stopped with 5 query links. when i try to do another one I go through the motions, the spreadsheet thinks about it but then only the field headers show up. Can anyone help?

Hi,

I have workbooks with many more QueryTables than 5.

BTW, these are not links.

Also I prefer to use Data > Import External Data > {b]Database Query[/b] rather than Import Data Lots more flexibility!.

Thanks to Skip, ive managed to solve that problem and now have plenty of queries in my spreadsheet. Now for the next bit. I need to be able to send this spreadsheet via e-mail to various managers on a weekly basis. When i open the spreadsheet i get a message box asking if i want to enable 'Automatic Refresh'. I need to get rid of the message box and make the spreadsheet stand alone. Ive tried 'save as' and tried the other option in the 'File' menu but no luck, Ive tried copy and pasting the sheets in another workbook, but again, no luck. Does anyone have any idea's or know how to do it. Any help is appreciated.

In 2007 on right-clicking the query goto Table and then select 'Unlink from Datasource'

In pre-2007 right click the query goto 'Edit Query' and then uncheck the option 'Save Query definition with Data'
(I might be slightly off on the names here)

Cheers,

Roel

In the Data > Data Range Properties window, uncheck Refresh data on file open.
