linking data problem

I have created and executable for a monthly report. It contains 14 reports which all use the same three Access tables. Every month one table must be updated with the new data. Once this is done, the reports do not refresh the data correctly. It says in the report, that it cannot link the data 'tablename'. It shows that message 14 times, once for each report. Then it shows outrageous numbers. Instead of the total number being around 400,000 it shows them as in the millions. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

Are your tables linked in the Visual Linking Expert?

How are you updating that table? Are you replacing the table completely or are you simply putting new data into the existing table?

A wild guess is that you are replacing the table and the new one doesn't have the same indexes as the one it is replacing. Therefore, it can't create the link.

ken, you were completely right, and I fixed it. It is funny to see your answer after fixing it, since it is right. Now I have a bigger problem, which is listed in today's 3/8 messages. The sub reports all have to have their db verified individually, as well as the primary report. Can I set the location not just of the db for each report, but for the sub reports to feed off the same data as the primary data source? This way when the primary report db is verified it will update the sub report connections to the updated table....
