In Excel, it is easy to link data in different workbooks using VB.
You can copy the cells required from the source and paste special/paste link in the other workbook.
I tried to select multiple columns in Project to past to and it would not happen.
I am trying to have the % complete column linked to an Excel worksheet.
What am I doing wrong.
I would appreciate your advise.

Works for me.

I highlighted four columns (% Complete, % Work Complete, Actual Work, Work)

Ctrl+C (to copy)

Switch to open Excel spreadsheet

Edit | Paste Special to get the popup

Click on "Paste Link" radio button.
Click on "Hyperlink" in the "As" scroll box.
Click on OK.

PDQBach, Thanks for the info. I did not explain correctly,
I was trying to link an Excel cell to reflect the data in Project.
I solved the issue, it was my fault, in Excel I did not have the correct cell format set, I now changed this and all is working well.

Hmm.. Sounds useful, but when I attemped this, and tried
to change a cell value in Excel I got a 'can't change array' error.

Yes, it would be useful to make quick sweeping changes in Excel be instantly reflected in Project.
