linking combo boxes between main and sub forms 1

I have a combo box on main form. i need to somehow set it up so that whatever value is chosen from the main combo box a sub category combo box is found and displyed (i.e. choose one out of a possible 10 combo boxes) and disply only that list of options. have tried sub forms and a macro or two to no avail... HELP

Why not simply have ONE secondary combo box and change it's record source based on the selection in the first combo box?

Use the OnChange event of the first combo to return a value that can be used to select a record source for the second combo box. Jamie Gillespie

okay.. any tips on setting up the expression that will choose the appropriate value to place in the combo box
