Does anyone know of a method to link two calendars within Outlook so that they will constantly update each other? All of the users have Outlook 2000 and use their personal calendars. We also have public calendars for each department which users are also required to update, thereby forcing users to enter everything at least twice. Is their a link that will automatically update the department calendar when a user edits their personal calendar?

We are using Exchange 2003 as our mail server.

Thanks,

Tall Guy,
Did you ever come up with a solution for this?

Thanks

I'd be interested, too.

Although, I have written a batch script that will copy a user calendar to a Public folder calendar.

Mine only runs on a PC with Outlook installed, though, not on the server in it's current form.

I did locate a relatively inexpensive Outlook add-on product to handle this situation that I am currently testing. The product is less than <$1,000 for an unlimited license. I cannot give you the product name or website due to tek-tips rules about promoting products. You should be able to find the product if you Google "linking Outlook calendars.

Tall Guy,

It's ok to mention the product under these circumstances.

You're just answering a question with the solution you found.

Rye8261,
Could you please provide a liitle more information regarding "schedule themselves as a resource". I do not see this option anywhere.

Thanks,
mmendes

Open up the public Calendar, double click the time to add the meeting, fill in all the fun stuff about the meeting and then click the Scheduling tab, then click Add Others at the bottom left and have her add herself as an attendee. This way it will invite herself to the meeting and add it to her local calendar when she accepts. If there are any changes, it will propogate to her calendar or notify her.
