I'm building a report in Crystal v10 that uses both a Progress database and an Excel spreadsheet as data sources. There's a column in the spreadsheet where all cells are formatted as text. I'm trying to link the fields in that column to a text field of the same length in the database, and I'm getting the "Data types are not compatible" error. Any ideas why I'd be getting that? Is there any way around it in Crystal v10? I know that in 8.5, this error was just a warning, and Crystal would let you go ahead and make the link, even though it might not work. Now, it seems, Crystal just assumes it's smarter than I am.

Thanks,

-Dave

One other piece of information...I'm already in a subreport, so I can't link things up that way.
