When I attempt to link the 2 together, the message "unknown database type" is displayed, the correct extension (.mdb) is being used, however no access 2000 files can be linked.

If I try to link an Access 97 file it works straight away, with no problems, please help!

I am using a simple data link, not active x etc.

If I remember corrected there is a patch for accessing Access 2000 in VB 6. I had the exact problem, go search the knowledge base. SP5 for VB6 may cure the problem.

Hi TurboNutter & Co.

Just a note If you are using ADO, make sure you use the correct ADO Provider:

"Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51" for Access 97

"Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for Access2000
