Having just received some sound suggestions from this forum, ( VLAN switches thread ) I would like to post anotehr question about switches. The max amount of stacked switches for 3Com 4400Se's is 8. There are 4 currently stacked with cascade extenders and 2 remote switches in other area's of the building linked through the regular ports on the front.
My question is;
How many "Remote" switches can I have daisy-chained in this fashion, and do these remote switches count towards the 8 switch ( 192 port ) limit. -OR- does the 8 switch limit only apply when you are using the cascade extenders and stacking kits.

Any thoughts are appreciated

Kenny

The latter: "the 8 switch limit only apply when you are using the cascade extenders and stacking kits."

But remember your "remote" switches face the hop limit for Fast Ethernet and this has nothing to do with 3Com or anyone else.
