Hello everyone - I have read all the suggestions on the forum and I am just not getting it. Okay - here goes---

Main form has general Instructor info

1 subform has the class information and InstructorID goes in automatically where it should. I enter in the class info on this one and need the ClassID to automatically go into the next form-

2nd subform has the contract info in it and I need the ClassID to carry over automatically. The InstructorID does but not the ClassID.

I THOUGHT I had the relationships set up correctly. The tab isn't going to the 2nd form either. I know 2 questions at once. I'm sorry - but I am going nuts !! Anybody??

Thanks in advance

First question, Are these tab subforms? I am assuming they are based on your comment near the end.

What are you linkchild & linkmaster criteria?

Do you have a relationship established with the source tables behind subform1 & subform2?
If not this may explain why the classID is not carrying over to subform2.

Which comes first, the contract or the class?
If the instructor first gets a contract then is assigned a class then you may need to change your relationships.
and make the ClassSubform a subform on the ContractSubform instead of a Tab SUbform.

Any more details you can give might be helpful in further solving this for you.
