I linked a MS SQL table to an MS Access db.
When I open the linked table and want to change the value of one column, I get the following error 'The recordset is not updatable'.

This is not a query with any specific filter, therefore I believe I need to setup something to be able to modify the MS SQL data.

Is there a specific setup that I need to do or is it impossible to modify the data when the table is linked?

Thanks for any info.

You can modify data in a linked table, but it is subject to all the rules in the underlying data source. Permissions to update the data are defined by the login id that is used to retrieve the data. The odbc data source usually has an id and password associated with it. Most people have this setup correctly and the most common reason for not being updateable is the lack of a primary key or index on the linked table. Check that the sql server table has a primary key and an unique index defined.
