Linked table to query to excel

Here's my problem, and I wonder if someone can help.

I have a table linked to an external DB, and from that, I have run a query. I want to be able to pull the data from the query into an excel spreadsheet, but when I do, it only brings up the field names, and no data. It works ok on queries that arent coming from a linked table, but doesnt seem to pull any data thorugh with the query from the linked table. What am I doing wrong....?
