I am having a problem with a linked table (Oracle 73.ver2.5) and Access 2002. All other linked tables are coming across great except for 1 table – and the only difference I can see is that there is a memo field. When I look at this table in Access – all fields show as #Name?. When I do a query on this table and exclude the memo field – data appears correctly. By the way – this table comes across great in Access 97. Can someone please give me an idea what’s going on? This problem is holding up a “rush” project. Thanks.

When you are viewing the table within access is anybody in the table that you are trying to view??

I had this issue with later versions of access, so i stuck with A97, which works great, and have not issue, i can link tables all day with no errors.

No one is in the table while I'm trying to view it. I've never had a problem with Access 97 either - I don't have the option of staying with 97 - I have to move to 2002.

Help - anyone???

Have you tried using a passthrough query to retrieve the data, rather than linking the table?

Ed Metcalfe.
