Hi! I added a linked table to my database (access) and when I try to access it, it gives me this error message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\\Tlhbomrres1\Share_D\Inetpub\ It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

/bureauofminere/frdocinvetory/login.asp, line 25

The permissions look okay on the database that the table is linked from and all of the tables from the main database work.

Do I need to set up a DSN for the database that the linked table is from? or shoudl I try something else.

Thanks!

I copied the linked table over to the database (thus not a linked table anymore) and used the same code and it worked. When i tried the linked table again I got the same error message. I found something on the microsoft website( but it makes no sense to me.

Can anyone help????
