In a FE/BE scheme, is it possible to have MS Access relink tables based on server path format versus Windows path (I don't know if this is the right terminology)?

ie. Server path: "\\ServerA\Databases\Datafile.mdb"

versus

Windows path: "M:\Databases\Datafile.mdb"

Thanks Rick

Yes - it is. The network paths are called UNC paths (Universal Naming Convention).
However, please note that using drive letters is a lot faster than UNC paths because otherwise the server name and path has to be resolved for each database access.

Adding the UNC path to your Network Neighborhood will cache the security information, thereby speeding up access.

Thanks guys

I will do some testing to see what the performance implications are for the UNC format.
