Linked table mgr stopped working!

I've successfully used the linked table manager untolded number of times. Now, it suddenly does not work. I get to the window to select the new backend, select the database and click Open. The browse window flashes invisible the visible again very quickly, and nothing else happens.

I have rebooted my PC, and it still does the same thing.

Has anyone ever experienced this behavior before?

Check to make sure that you do not have any local tables on the Front End such as Error Tables that are not linked. Delete these and try again.

No extra tables that weren't there before. I managed to use VBA code to change the links, but the Linked Table Manager seems to be acting petulant these past few days. It still is very annoying. I'm wondering if I'll have to reinstall Access.
