After you do that the TNSNAMES file will need to be configured as always when connecting to Oracle.

Make sure to install the full version of the client tools. I did the quick install and it left out some dll's that were needed. I had to go back and re-install the full version of the Oracle Client.

I think the only thing I used on my SQL Servers (after going back and forth many times ) was from the universal installer everything under the "Oracle Windows Interface" section. This by default installs the universal installer and ODBC, OLE components
Although it is nice to install SQL*Plus for testing reasons. I did uninstall it after that though. This was the most "thin" I could get the installation while keeping it working.
