Hello All,

Anybody knows how to setup a linked server to a password protected Access database?

BOL has instructions for Access databases with user-level security enforced, but nothing about database password.

Password removal is not an option at this moment.

Environment:
SQL Server 2005, MS Access 2003

Most helpful link returned by Google (of course, no solution...)

Thanks in advance,

I don't believe that it can.

There is a workaround.

You can create a new Access database and add linked tables from the secured database into the new databaes. Those linked tables will not appear as tables in the linked server. To go around that, create a query for each linked table. Those queries can be read and written just like tables.

Thanks, it worked.
