Hi experts,

Today I added a linked server. Both are SQL Server 2000 SP3a.

In Enterprise Manager, when i click on the linked server name--> Tables, it displays the system tables that are in the Master db. I need to see tables, views from my user database.

This is only the second linked server I have configured. The first one didn't behave this way.

What could cause it to show the Master db?

Thanks, John

The tables that it shows you are the tables in the default database for the login that you are using to log into the linked server. Connect directly to the other server, and edit the login properties. Change the default database to what ever database you want to have the tables show up for.

Keep in mind that it doesn't matter what tables show up in that list. You will have access to what ever tables your account has access to, even if they aren't listed. As long as some tables show up in that list, your linked server is working correctly.
