I have a linked server set up from our SQL Server 2000 to our Oracle 8i server. Everything has been running great for months, but today it decided to stop working. Every time I try to query the linked server, I get this message:
Server: Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error. The provider reported an unexpected catastrophic failure.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: Unexpected error occurred: The count of rows processed went backward on Oracle Call Interface ofen call.]
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDAORA' IRowset::GetNextRows returned 0x8000ffff: The provider reported an unexpected catastrophic failure.].
Does anyone have any idea what this means? I have 2 other Oracle 8i linked servers that are both working fine (one of them is actually on the same server, just a different database, so I know the network connection is OK.).
Thanks for any suggestions or advice you may have.
Hope This Helps!
