Can anyone help me?
I can link an excel spreadsheet to an access database easily with the get external data option in access.

This gives the link path of say: -
DATABASE=C:\My Documents\test.xls;TABLE=Sheet1$

The problem comes when the database is put on a remote server for website purposes. the path to the linked table stays the same and is then obviously wrong.

Is it possible to change the file path of a linked table or do I need to link the tables a different way to start with.

Any help with this would be gratefully appreciated.

Try setting the path to a UNC?

\\ComputerName\ShareName\My Documents\text.xls;TABLE=Sheet1$

Hi guys

Can I manually specify a UNC path? I do not have access to the path this DB is going to end up on, and so I need to be able to set a really nice generic "\data\data.mdb" or something similar.

Thanks

Must be a Wednesday (well, it is over this side of the world, anyway).

When I said I didn't haVe access to the path the DB was going on to, I meant the path on the computer the DB is going to reside on.
