I would like to link a Word document to a Crystal Report and based on the data in a field in my data source, link to a Word document in a particular file location with the same value as the data, i.e. the data is 123 then the Word document it would find and print the contents within the Crystal Report would be word document called 123.doc. Is this possible and if so, what would the formula be to accomplish this? Any help that you could provide would be great.

Thanks.

Eva

From within Crystal I can't think of a way to automatically do this, though you can fake it.

You can format the field to be a hyperlink to a file. Right click, select format field, click the X-2, select the field containing the file.

It will have to be appropriately pathed.

This will open the Word document, then the user can manipulate or print the document.

An alternative is to insert the Word doc as an OLE object into the database, then Crystal can display it.
