I am attempting to link to an Oracle table but as there are so many tables when I bring up the browse window of the Oracle tables I cannot get down the list far enough to find the table I need. The tables are listed alpha seq. and I do not see any way to just key in the name. It's not an Oracle linking problem since our average business user's primary way to interface with Oracle (v5 and v9) is with Access while I use both Access and TOAD and can open the table in TOAD.

Is there a way around this limit of retreived table names from Oracle.

Poduska,

This is what happened to me with Access 2003 and Oracle 9.2. I am NOT sure why it happened that way. However, I found the work-around to have all tables display in browser when using DSN connection.

Here is what I have done to find the work-around:

With TOAD or PL/SQL Developer or SQLPlus, I can see all tables in 2 different schema; say schema A - one for archived tables; and schema B - one for current using tables. However with ODBC (System DSN) I can only see one table. I asked DBA to disable my access permission on schema A, and left only schema B. Then I can access all Oracle tables in Access.

Hope this helps.
