I am a novice so don't be afraid to over simplify :).

I have a very simple html page with a couple of links. I want to use it for an informative CD. Popping in the CD, the html will auto run. It will have some information and a couple of links on the page. Clicking on a link will open a document, pdf, install program (adobe reader), etc.

How do I code the links so that the files open regardless of the drive letter assigned to the CD ROM drive? (For example my CD ROM drive is E: and my partner's is D:).

Thanks Lee.

I think I follow you, but I'd really appreciate some verification.

Currently my code reads:

href="file:///E:\samples\file.TXT"

If I understand you correctly, I would change the above command RELATIVE to the location of the html file.

So, in my case the html file is at the root of the CD ROM drive so I'd change my code to:

href="file://\samples\file.TXT"

??????

Try this instead:

Code:
href="\samples\file.TXT"

I use relative paths like this in local HTML pages without a problem.
