Link to external file prob

I link all my songs that I used in my Director program to external file so that when the file is compressed, the file will be smaller.
But when I played the projector, the sound will lag and some of the songs did not came in.

So I found a solution, that is standard import the songs that lag and caused prob instead of link to external file.

My question is how come some of the songs/sound that I link them to external file are working but some of them are not?

are you sure you link the exactly correct location?

e.g. if you play a shockwave audio external link.
you movie place on c:\director
you mp3 location:
c:\director\folder\song.mp3

you should actually point it like as below:
\folder\song.mp3

well, what I meant was when I import the file into the cast, I put the option as link to external file instead of standard import.
