Hello

I would like to connect to our Perform evaluations database directly (to create reports with Crystal). Does anyone have a guide to doing so?

I mostly need to know which drivers are required.

Thanks

OLE DB (ADO) works for me in version 8.x. I assume it would work in Perform, too.

leithdavyb,

since perform uses ms sql you can use corresponding driver to connect to it. however, the db schema is not considered permanent and nice does not approve direct access to it. there is an additional option named nice perform db kit which is not a real product by itself but a set of scripts used to create a db view which schema is guaranteed not to change over time. its license cost is $15k.

You should be using the DataMart for external reporting which has been provided for both reporting within NICE and also providing an option for external users to link to. Assuming your datamart is installed on a separate server as suggested by NICE this reduces the load on the core system. As Dwalin suggests best option is purchase the db kit which gives you a guide on various views and structures making it easier to report on. While $15k sounds expensive realise that the raw databases are very difficult to work with, the time saved in learning all the different tables and relations purchasing the db kit is worth it.
