I'm trying to find out if it's possible to link external data sources to the AS400. I have successfully linked tables from the AS400 to SQL and Access but would like to go the other way now. Anyone know if this is possible and how to?

Thanks

I know you can set up a Linked Server to an AS400 on SQL Server, and I think you can link Access through and ODBC connection.

Here's some web sites that may help with SQL Server. You can also look up "Linked Server" in SQL Server's Books Online and there should be a "how to".

Hope This Helps!

Create an ODBC connection using i-series Access for Windows ODBC Setup. On the Server tab click Advanced. Set the commit mode to Commit immediate (*NONE)

Looking to have the data reside in SQL and just a linked file on the AS400 side.
