ESX 3.5
Infrastructure Client 2.5

In Configuration > Networking > Properties in the Network Adapter tab the "Link Status" shows as disconnected.

Now obviously the adapter works since I have a telnet and an Infrastructure Client session open to the esx server but the adapter icon has a red X on the line between the adapter image and the Virtual Switch image.

Config:
Virtual Switch: vSwitch0
Service Console Port: Service Console
vswif0: 192.168.10.100
Physical Adpter: vmnic1

Virtual Switch: vSwitch1
VMkernel Port: VMkernel
192.168.10.101
Physical Adpter: vmnic2

Both link status show as disconnected. I can ping both IP's from the domain. I am at a loss.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I figured out the problem.......

When I installed a gigabyte adapter, my 10/100's came online. Apparently you need to have at least 1 gb adapter installed.

I was then able to attach my openfiler NAS (which only has a 10/100 adapter) as the datastore.
