We had 4 servers (A,B,C,&D, A being the master) each with SQL Server installed with multiple databases, all connected via Linked Servers. We just tried bringing a 5th server on-line, after having some problems with out apps on our new server (E), we remembered that this server had not been linked. We proceeded to link server (E) with A,B,C, and D, which really did nothing for our problem. The next day (today) we’ve experience major problems accessing DB’s on our master server (A), both with internal apps and a Web report program(mostly unable to access certain tables). All access to the other servers seems to be fine. Only thing we did was to link server E with the rest of the group (in all the servers). Is there something that stands out to anyone that we might have missed configuring the Link Servers, or maybe there is something else I can look at. At help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m new in my position, so my knowledge of the complete system is rather limited.
Thanks in advance,
