I have an 8 port analog station module installed on a MICS, 4.1 I believe, not sure will double check that. But i got a trouble call that they cannot transfer calls on the single line cordless phones. I was told that the way to do that is; flash *70. also i told them to put a call on hold it is flash *2. i can't find a user guide past 2.0 for ATAs. I digress. I went to the site today and I see that flash key doesn't work AT ALL. I know there is a Link timer, I think the default is 600. I changed it to 800 and 900 and it still doesn't work at all. flash does not break dial tone AT ALL. any ideas? This system has only been installed about a month and I had tested these features when I installed the system and it worked just fine. But definitely does not now. I had not previously changed the link timer when it was working.
Thank you.

On an ATA when you flash the phone to use a feature, the flash is a local function to the phone not the system. This has nothing to do with the link timer in the system. Check you analog phone to be sure the flash/link button is working properly.

i have 8 analog cordless phones on this system and it doesn't work on ANY of them.

I suggest you plug in a butt set and monitor what happens when you push the flash button on a cordless. The flash timer in the system only affects the duration of F71. This is a phone problem, are you using an ASM or 8 different ATA's?

as I mentioned above, it is an ASM, i was just not sure of the software version of the MICS.
good idea about monitoring it with my butt set, i didn't think of that. i will check that out but if you think of anything else, let me know. thank you.

I hate to ask but is there 2 intercom buttons assigned to the ATA's DN?

no, i don't believe so, should there be? i realized today that the features such as transfer and hold are actually working but you just don't hear second dialtone as you would normally. it is confusing for the user, for sure.

We're talking about the number of Intercom keys assigned to the set, here.

Devices attached to an ASM have two paths to make and receive calls. If there is only one Intercom key, or worst, no Intercom key at all, calls can still be made and received… but not all types of calls. Also, some features require an Intercom key. It is best to assign two Intercom keys for the two paths.

The Transfer feature uses the two paths: one path keeps the call on hold and the other path makes the call to the target DN. As a result, it is not possible to transfer a call if the two paths are in use.

This is because the ASM needs to interpret the digits dialed on the analog phone. If I remember correctly, there is some other tone from the ASM instead of the system dial tone.

Flash *2 is the Ring Again feature code. Be sure to use Flash 2 (without a star) to put a call on hold.
