Scenario,

Working in an Intranet environment (Documentum).

If an Intranet explorer window (6.0) is open that needed a password. Then external Intranet links from an Acrobat file will not open.

If no explorer windows are open then all links work.

Thank you for any assistance.

Sounds like it's working properly - Documentum won't give them the file until they login and it can determine if they have rights to view the file. I use FileNet Content Services, but the principle is the same.
You might be able to avoid the problem if Documentum supports transparent authentication - my FileNet Content Services does - if I set users up for transparent authentication, FileNet knows who they are from Active Directory, and what their rights are, so they don't get prompted for a login. See if Documentum has this feature tucked away somewhere. You might just need to activate it!

Thanks Fred,

But would this prevent Explorer from attempting to open a window? There is no window at all opening, not even a blank window looking for a password.

Bruce - I'm supposing that your Documentum interface is through your web browser. If someone clicks on a link to a document in Documentum, before documentum serves up the document, it will demand a login to verify the user's right to the document. This is how things work in browser access to my FileNet documents. Does it sound like what yours is trying to do ?
