I am trying to figure out how to create a Master MSP 2003 file comprised of a handful of subprojects all stored on a SharePoint 2003 site.

When I create my Master file and attempt to insert the subprojects I, of course, get errors about the http: file path to the project files on SharePoint.

I read somewhere about being able to do the linking if you know the SharePoint server name, but I haven't had any luck tracking that down.

Is there a known way to do this? Or is this a known issue that can't be done?

Thanks!
C

Do you have any further information on this? Any responses posted? I am trying to develop an IMS and do not have any other tools than MS Project 2003 and access to a SharePoint portal. I would like to know more about how you are building a master schedule.

Thanks

scooterb02,

I have no access to the SharePoint server name, so can't test whether or not it would work; however, I have been told by various people that MSP files on SP do NOT work for linking. At least not in MSP and SP 2003. I don't know about 2007.

We had to implement a process of downloading the files onto a shared drive for the consolidation and updates. Same with our Resource Pool file.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.

C
