We have Act! 6.0 using Windows XP and Microsoft Office XP (with all the latest patches).
We created a document template to use with ACT! for outgoing stationery. The header and footer which contains our logos and contact information were LINKED by using INSERT>PICTURE. We didn't embed the images themselves since the resulting files would be horrendously big and take up lots of room on our server (we generate many letters per day).
When one EDITS the document template, the header and footer pictures link and look good. However, when one USES the document template, the pictures are replaced with little boxes with red "Xs" in them (indicating to me that somehow ACT! lost the link to the files). We work on work stations, but the database is on our server.
The pictures we are linked to are .tifs, but we also tried .jpg's to no avail, so I suspect that the type of linked object may not make much difference.
Is there any work-around? I looked on ACT's web site to report the bug, but we don't have access to the ACT! technical support (That's another beef I've got with them. I can't even report a BUG that they generated unless we pay them $299 per year per person!).
Thank you for your time!
