LINK EXCHANGE 5.5 to SQL 2000

I am trying to link the exchange database (Exchange server 5.5) to SQL 2000 so that I can run SQL querys across the emails within a network. I have been looking to use linked servers but have had no luck. So basically my question is; How can you view all emails in an exchange server within a SQL database so that the results can be queried?
